The term video refers to the technology of electronically capturing images, recording, processing, storing and reconstructing them in motion. The technology was first introduced for the cathode ray tube television systems. However, since then several new technologies for videos have been invented. Today, computers are being used to display television and film-style video clips and streaming media. As opposed to older analog technologies, the general computing hardware can now be used to capture, store, edit and transmit content.
The phrase video has been derived from a Latin word “I See.” and commonly refers to many storage formats used for moving eye pictures like DVD, MPEG-4 and QuickTime. Now, the quality of video mainly depends on capturing and storage methods. One of the recent formats television format is the Digital Television. It has superior quality which has become a standard for television video.
At the end of 20th century, the 3D-video were premiered. Usually, 6-8 cameras with real time depth measurement are used to capture 3D-video streams. In developed countries like UK, Australia and New Zealand, the term video is often referred for both Videocassette recorders and video cassettes.
